The series progressive lubrication systems (automatic lubrication systems, centralized lubrication systems) meter oil or grease (up to NLGI 2) via distribution blocks (divider valves) to lubricate the friction points of the machines. Each divider valve can serve between 3 and 24 outlets with accurate discharge to each point. The distribution system is reliable and can be monitored by an electrical switch on the primary divider, as well as visual observation of an indicator pin.

Pumps are available in 12/24 VDC, 115/230VAC, or pneumatic or hydraulically powered. We offer Integrated controllers, separate controllers as well as customized controls utilizing PLC’s, HMI’s, zoned operation and real time monitoring.

What are the benefits of using an ILC (Centralized Lubrication Systems) Series Progressive System?

  • A series progressive system meters lubricant to each and every lubrication point sequentially, one after another. Any blockage of a tubing run serving a lubrication point causes the divider valve to stop functioning. Multilne systems or injector systems cannot provide any notification of a blocked point.
  • There is a visual confirmation of lubricant flow through the divider via a pin that oscillates as lubricant is being pumped. An optional proximity switch can be fitted to the valve which is then connected to a dedicated M12 connector on the pump. In the event of a blockage, the proximity switch notifies the pump of a lubricant flow issue and the pump would show a fault condition on the controller. The fault output may be used to illuminate a light or other warning device in the operator’s cab.
  • Every pump is equipped with an integrated low level switch. A low level condition illuminates a light on the pump controller and an output signal may be used to make an operator aware of a low level condition in the cab.
  • The divider valve configuration is the only system design that allows greasing of all lubrication points in the event of a pump issue.
  • The pump is capable of pumping NLGI # 2 grade grease. It has a fairly large inlet which we use to affix a cam lock arrangement allowing personnel to refill the pump with a manual pail pump.
  • Every pump is equipped with a pressure gauge that provides real time monitoring of the system lubricant delivery. In addition the pump has a paddle that rotates and visually confirms its operation. As the paddle rotates, the pumping element, which is mechanically coupled to a cam, meters lubricant at a precise volume of .16 cc per revolution.
  • Most competitive lubrication system pumps have controllers that allows the selection of a specific run time as well as a dwell time; the time the pump is in idle mode. The ILC pump has a unique ability to be programmed to run for a specific number of pump rotations as opposed to run time. Run time programming does not factor in the wide variation in revolutions a pump will make per minute based on the ambient temperature. Effectively a pump programmed to run for 2 minutes at 20ºF will makes less revolutions than at 85ºF. In practice, this effects delivery volume.

The progressive lubrication systems allow oil or greas (up to NLGI 2) distribution to lubricate the friction points of the machines. The divider blocks of between 3 and 24 outlets guarantee a correct discharge for each point. The system is easy to control and can be monitored by an electrical switch on the main divider.

Ideally suitable for the automatic grease lubrication of all types of industrial machines and as a chassis lubrication pump for trucks, trailers, buses, construction and mechanical handling vehicles.

In conjunction with ILC DPA, DPM or DPX progressive dividers, more than three hundred greasing points can be automatically centralized from just a single grease pump.

The pumps are designed for intermittent or continuous operation to provide regular pre‐programmed lubrication cycles as required for the various applications.

A direct‐mounted electric geared motor drives an internal rotating cam, which can actuate up to three externally mounted pump elements.

Every pumping element has a relief valve to protect the system against over‐pressure.

To have a bigger discharge it is possible to collect the three outlets from the pumping elements together in a single tube.

ILC Logo These reliable, comprehensive and customizable centralized lubrication systems offer 3 types of progressive dispensing in combination with manual pumps or automatic pumps. ILC progressive series lubrication systems can be configured for oil or grease (up to NLGI 2), are easy to control and monitor and operate efficiently in the extreme environments found around industrial machinery and fleet operations.

Designed for intermittent or continuous operation, the direct mounted electric gear motor drives an internal rotating cam controlling up to three externally mounted pump elements, each of which with a maximum operating temperature of 250 bar and each will dispense up to 2.88 cc/minute (a larger discharge can be achieved by combining two or more outlets to one externally mounted pump. Each pump has a relief valve to protect against over-pressure. The internal drive shaft is coupled to a paddle which ensures continuous priming of the pump(s) with grease up to NLGI 2 at ambient temperatures down to -20°C.

The electric gear motor is protected with an IP-56 rated Nylon/Fiberglass enclosure and the seal is guaranteed with well mounted "o"-ring.

ILC MINI-MAX ELECTRIC GREASE PUMP

ILC Mini-Max Combination Series Progressive and Multiline System

ILC Mini-Max Driven by a 12V DC or 24V DC electric motor, the Mini-Max was designed to work as a multiline system or as a combination multiline/series progressive system. Equipped with 10 outlets, two can be outfitted with 1/8" metering pumping elements to feed DPX progressive distributors and up to eight outlets can be connected directly to lubrication points with M10x1 single utility pumping elements.

The Mini-Max electric pump was designed to work both as a multi-outlet system and with DPX progressive distributors. Naturally both systems can also be combined. It is driven by a 12 V DC or 24 V DC gearmotor and is capable of pumping grease with a max consistency of NLGI 2. On demand it can be supplied with a Timer. The pump can be equipped with a maximum of 10 pumping elements; two outlets can be connected to progressive distributors and eight outlets can be connected directly to the points to be lubricated. There is a spatulator in the lower zone to facilitate grease intake The version without minimum level indication has only the spatulator and scraper. The electrical connections specific for outdoors, together with the various sealing measures, give the pump a high protection level.

ILC VOLUMETRIC LUBRICATION

Volumetric Lubrication

ILC Volumetric Lubrication The volumetric system is based on Positive Displacement Injectors (PDI). A precise, predetermined volume of oil or soft grease is dispensed to each point unaffected by temperature or viscosity of the lubricant. Both electric and pneumatic pumps are available to ensure a discharge up to 500 cc/minute via a range of injectors extending from 15 mm³ to 1000 mm³ per cycle.

Single line lubrication systems are a positive hydraulic method of delivering lubricant, either oil or soft grease under pressure to a group of points from one centrally located pumping unit the pump supplies lubricant to one or more metering valves. The valves are precision measuring devices and deliver an accurate metered volume of lubricant to each point.
A typical system is shown in Fig. 1 (above).

PRG-13 Manual Oil Pump and PRDG-13 Manual Soft Grease Pump

The PRD-13 (Oil) and PRDG-13 (Soft Grease) are manual pumps for centralized lubrication systems where volumetric metering units are used. The pump assembly is located on the bottom of the plastic reservoir. The manual lever discharges 13 cc of fluid to the left or right (as specified on ordering) to actuate fixed output positive displacement oil or grease injectors. Since the lever operates with a return spring, 15 to 20 seconds must elapse between pulls. Each pump is equipped with an internal pressure relief valve, a 250 micron suction strainer and fill cup. PRA Pnuematic Pumps

ILC PRA Pnuematic Pumps The PRA Pneumatic Pumps are designed for oil or soft grease centralized lubrication systems where volumetric metering valves are used.

The pump assembly is located over the reservoir and the air is sent via a 3-way solenoid valve (line - cylinder - release). The piston has a return a spring. The pause time must not be less than 15 seconds.

Single Line Resistive Lubrication Systems/Pumps

Single line Resistance System Less complicated, cheaper and easier to install than any other systems. The single line Resistance System facilitates the supply of small doses of oil by mean of Metering Units. Both electric and manual pumps are available to ensure a discharge of up to 200 cc/minute via range of Metering Units. Oil dosage is proportional to the pump pressure and oil viscosity. Single Line Resistive lubrication systems are low pressure oil lubrication systems for light, medium and heavy machinery requiring up to 100 points of lubrication. Two types of systems (manual and automatic) are available to meet virtually any industrial application.

System structure
1) Manual systems are ideally suited for machinery which can be lubricated by a hand actuated, intermittently fed oil discharge system on an occasional basis.

2) Automatic systems are ideally suited for machinery requiring an uninterrupted discharge of oil either regularly timed or continuous. Automatic systems are actuated by a self-contained timing mechanism or by a mechanical drive mechanism connected to the equipment being lubricated.

Advantages
Single line resistance systems are compact, economical and relatively simple to operate and maintain. The system is ideally suited for machinery or equipment which displays closely configured bearing clusters, or groups.

A precisely controlled discharge of oil is delivered to each point while the machine is in operation. The system provides a clean film of oil between critical bearing surfaces to keep friction and wear to a minimum. Machinery life is extended and production efficiency is maintained.

Oil and Soft Grease MPT Electric Pumps

ILC PRA Pnuematic Pumps MPT electric pumps are designed for centralized lubrication system with oil where volumetric metering units are used. The motor pump assembly is located on a steel angle plate with holes for wall mounting. The angle plate also serves as the cover for the reservoir. The gear pump is equipped with a set of valves for priming (the vent valve purges air when the motor starts), releasing (the release valve opens when the pump stops to release pressure) and relieving (the relief valve opens to avoid overpressure in the system). Pumps are also equipped with suction filter, low level switch, pressure gauge and fill cup..

At the end of the set Pause period, operating voltage is applied and the pump motor is switched on. The pump delivers pre-metered oil quantities through the volumetric metering units to the lubrication points of the machine. The pump stops at the end of the set Work period and must be monitored to ensure that the pressure switch closes the contact. The lubrication cycle is complete.

After the pressure in the system has been released, the metering chambers of the volumetric metering units are refilled and further lubrication cycles are repeated in accordance with the Pause period that has been set. Intermediate lubrication is possible by briefly pressing the start button. Faults are signaled if no pressure builds up during the lubrication cycle, no pressure is released during the Pause period or the oil level in the reservoir is low.

Air Oil Lubrication Systems/Pumps

auto lubrication Oil-Air System Sure and economic, an innovative technology to lubricate with air/ oil high speed spindles. Main application of these systems is the lubrication and the cooling of spindle’s internal bearings. Micro pneumatic pumps systems are equipped with an inductive sensor. This allows to verify actually the coming of the lubricant towards the lubrication points. This check happens every single discharge.

System structure
In oil+air lubrication, a quantity of oil metered volumetrically by a pump or distributor is pulled apart by a continuous air flow in a tube and carried along the tube wall in the direction of compressed-air flow. The quantity of oil is fed into the air flow in pulses at a mixing point (mixing valve). A nearly continuous flow of oil is produced that leaves the outlet nozzle as fine drops and is fed to the rolling bearing without contact. This means that the bearing housing is under a slight overpressure, which keeps dirt away from the sensitive bearings. The carrier air leaves the bearing nearly free of oil. This concept creates no oil mist or oil fog, making it environmentally friendly as well.

CME Electric pump for oil and soft grease volumetric lubrication systems
The CME electric pumps have been developed for single line lubrication systems fitted with volumetric metering valves or air-oil mixers.

The unit consists of a gear pump, an electric motor, a low level switch, an electronic control card (upon request), a green LED (indicates power ON), a yellow LED (indicates pump working), a pressure gauge, a push button for intermediate lubrication and a pressure switch. Alternatively, the pressure switch can also be put at the end of the main line.

The plastic cover protects the electrical components from environmental conditions like dirt or dust. The transparent impactresistant reservoir has a capacity of 2 or 3 litres.

A set of valves which provides the decompression and bypass functions is connected to the gear pump.

The lubricants that can be used are oil with a viscosity range between 50 and 1000 cSt (CME-O) or soft grease with a NLGI consistency of 000-00 (CME-G). The two models have different sensors fitted for level control (see technical data sheet).

MPT ELECTRIC PUMPS FOR OIL AND SOFT GREASE
MPT electric pumps are designed to supply oil or soft grease lubrication systems where volumetric metering valves are installed. The pump motor unit is applied to a sheet-metal angle plate acting as a cover of the tank. A valve unit is applied to the gear pump, which performs the priming (automatic air purge during the start-up stage) – decompression (automatic pressure release in the circuit at the end of the working cycle) and safety (automatic lubricant discharge inside the tank when the maximum working pressure is reached) functions. Minimum level electrical warning and a pressure gauge are also installed, while the intake filter and the load filter are for the Oil version only.

MIXER X MIXING VALVES FOR AIR + OIL LUBRICATION SYSTEMS
MIXER-X valves are air-oil mixers complete with high precision volumetric metering devices. They are structured in individual elements that can be assembled up to a maximum of 8 elements (for blocks with a greater number of utilities, consult our technical office).

The head elements RH (right) and LH (left), which include the seats for air and oil supply, are located at the ends.

Metering can be selected for each lubrication point within a range between 10 and 160 mm³/cycle.
In addition to the metering unit, an air flow adjustment screw is provided in Mixer X.

The piping connections for the main and secondary line are available with quick fittings or with compression fittings and are used with pipes with a diameter of 6 or 8 mm (main line) and 4 or 6 mm (secondary line). The MIXER-X.C model combines the characteristics described above with real control of the lubricant flow, from the metering unit to the mixing chamber, and is available for flow rates from 10 to 30 mm³/cycle.

The cycle control consists of a PMM block installed directly in the mixer body. A proximity sensor and a control piston, driven directly by the lubricant flow, are housed inside it.

Each circuit operation corresponds to a movement of the piston which generates a change of state of the sensor. Any anomaly preventing piston movement triggers an alarm. The alarm will be present during start-up if there are air bubbles in the circuit and will continue to apply until complete de-aeration.

Dual-Line systems Pumps

dual-line-diagram Dual-line lubrication systems are designed to be used on large industrial structures, facilities and systems. They can lubricate points at a great distance.

System structure
These systems consist of two main lines supplied by a high-pressure pump at up to 400 bar with alternating cycles. While one line is under pressure the other one is in relief (by a change-over valve). Sometimes it is possible to installa End Line Switch. The Control unit is usually installed near the pump.

Operating
The system operates a two-phases alternating cycle. In the first cycle, lubricant is pumped in main line (A) moving inlet and discharge pistons in one direction. The whole measured amount of lubricant in the valves is delivered to the outlets.

When the switch (or change-over valve) preset pressure is reached, the system pump switch to relief the main line (A) and lubricant is pumped in main line (B). Inlet and discharge pistons will move in the opposite direction as the cycle repeats.

DF and DR modular valves specifically designed for dual-line lubrication systems, up to 400 bar pressures. They are available with up to 8 outlets. They have many benefits over traditional monoblock dividers. DF-DR are Zi-Ni plated.

A mix of double and single discharge modules can be fitted to each base. Every module is available in two different flow rates.

DF valves come with fixed discharge and DR valves with adjustable discharge. These modules are fitted to bases which are fitted and piped to the centralized lubrication system.

The electric TWIN-PUMP has been designed for all applications that use Double Line Systems.

The Double Line lubrication systems, generally used on medium and large sized machinery and equipment, operate in harsh or extreme operating conditions for the various points to be lubricated.

The systems can be very complex and be longer than 100 metres. Any type of system can be designed and set up in a reliable and efficient manner, with the possibility of expansion.

The TWIN 2 pumps, available with a 30 or 100 kg tank, have been designed with the aim of ensuring high reliability. They are able to develop a maximum pressure of 400 bar and a flow rate of 400 cc/1’. They are therefore able to feed large plants such as oil rigs, mining plants, cement plants, steel mills.

The pumps are equipped with electric level gauges, lubricant loading filters, reversing valves, pressure gauges and metal pallets for ground anchorage.

The pumps are designed on a modular basis and can be easily configured with very little effort. Please refer to the configuration tables at the end of this catalogue.

They have a very sturdy structure and operate effectively at temperatures between -25 a +80 ° C.
